THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an Executive Director, Strategic Staffing to direct and manage the recruitment, selection, and staffing processes for the district while designing, developing, directing, and implementing necessary process and policy changes and improvements to create an efficient, effective 21st century Talent Acquisition and Management Office. The Executive Director, Strategic Staffing will first and foremost be a strong strategic thinker committed to carrying out the vision of The Cleveland Plan's talent-seeking strategy and will hold steady to this vision while developing and managing a healthy and productive talent acquisition and management team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the Senior Talent Leadership Team, the position will play a critical role in setting the vision, establishing expectations, and ensuring the implementation of the primary functions of Talent Acquisition and Management. This team must seamlessly identify, recruit, and support retention of strong talent to fill vacant positions across our schools and the district.

This role will:

Lead the Talent Acquisition & Support Staff, and District-staffing functions

Develop alternative pipelines to find and develop school leaders, teachers, and support staff members

Build out and implement retention strategies for high-quality teachers and school leaders as well as district personnel

Be the primary decision maker related to Talent Acquisition, insightfully creating and managing a vision and roadmap for quality

Manage a multi-layered team committed and accountable for staffing top-talent via recruitment and selection

Make decisions related to scope, direction, and goals of the Talent department and District

Design strategy and make decisions related to recruitment and selection process and alternative licensure programs, allocating people and resources to achieving programmatic goals, proactively and in response to broad internal and external events

Improve our talent-seeking strategy through clear expectations and best practices

Implement recruitment and selection strategies to acquire top-talent to CMSD

Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency that prioritize talent-seeking strategies that align with the Cleveland Plan

Build and manage a responsive, results-oriented, goal-driven team

Develop recruitment metrics and goals to be shared by the team with leaders across the District

Redesign and manage recruitment and selection processes as needed; ensure documentation, and legal compliance

Liaise with functional teams to ensure our strategy, systems and policies are designed to account for the needs of our district

Work collaboratively with other members of the HR leadership team to plan for overarching workforce development priorities

Be a District expert in recruitment and selection work

Participate on Collective Bargaining negotiation team to advocate talent needs and priorities to seek best leaders for scholars

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree Preferred

Demonstrated experience managing teams with ambitious results

Minimum of five years of directly relevant experience with talent acquisition, recruitment, retention, and selection processes

Experience working in classroom, school district, or education-field strongly preferred

Experiencing driving change through a large organization

Track record of building senior-level relationships

Experience managing multiple, complex, detail-heavy projects

Outstanding strategic and analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, identify trends, pinpoint problems and root causes, and develop innovative solutions

Excellent execution and project management skills, including ability to balance the big picture with detailed steps, prioritize and set goals as well as execute mid-course corrections

Strong aptitude to lead change and implement change management and communication strategies

Exceptional communication skills as well as relationship, negotiation, and influencing skills
